Sarah & Marcus: A Breezy Beach Wedding in Tobago

Sarah Williams and Marcus Joseph had always dreamed of a wedding that felt like a holiday — and Tobago delivered exactly that. The couple, both from San Fernando, chose the iconic Pigeon Point Heritage Beach for their intimate ceremony, flying in 60 of their closest friends and family from across Trinidad.

The Setting

The thatched jetty at Pigeon Point, stretching out over the most improbably turquoise water in the Caribbean, served as the altar. Sarah walked barefoot across soft white sand in a flowing silk dress, her bouquet a loose arrangement of tropical heliconias and white orchids. The officiant kept the ceremony under 20 minutes — just long enough for everyone to feel the weight of the moment before the celebrations began.

The Celebration

A beachside dinner followed at sunset, with long communal tables set directly on the sand. A local Tobago band played live steelpan through the golden hour, the music drifting out over the water. The couple arranged a rum punch station and a dessert spread featuring a three-tier coconut sponge cake decorated with edible tropical flowers.

"Everyone kept saying, 'You should go abroad for your honeymoon wedding,' but we said no — Tobago is paradise. Why go looking for something you already have at home?"
